We’re Holly & Arryn, your silly & supportive strength-coaching duo with 20+ years of combined experience. Our mission is to create a kinder fitness industry - using movement as a tool for healing, play, inquiry, and liberation. We coach fellow coaches and lifting enthusiasts to build their strengths - physical, mental, & beyond. We help you train in a way that puts your humanity first & gives back more than it takes, without expecting you to "follow the program perfectly."Whether you train for sports performance, ambitious strength goals, &/or to support your mental health, we focus on smart, creative programming that helps you make progress AND enjoy the process.400+ fellow trainers and kettlebell enthusiasts have lifted with us & you can too…

RLY STRONG MUSCLES

RLY STRONG MUSCLES is our online group training program for seasoned lifters who want thoughtful, top tier programming without having to write it themselves. It's challenging, yet adaptable, & always designed with your longevity in mind.

Who it's for

• You already have experience with kettlebell training, the powerlifts, and the basics of strength training. You love learning new exercise variations, while also practicing what’s tried and true. You're comfortable trying new-to-you moves independently.• You want to make steady strength gains and increase everyday resilience but you don’t want to write your own program - or you don't know how.• Lifting is a big part of your physical and mental health self-care toolbox. You want to practice making compassionate choices for your body as it shows up each day, and letting go of all-or-nothing thinking while following a program.• You want thoughtful, non-bro-y coaches who use a trauma-informed lens.

What you get

RLY STRONG MUSCLES is a progressive strength & conditioning program complete with:

• New phases every 8-12 weeks using a mix of modalities (kettlebell, barbell, odd/old-timey lifts, bodyweight, etc.)• Hosted on the TrueCoach app• Choose: 3 or 5 days/week• The program is intentionally adaptable. Choose between three versions of the workout each day:
- an "under 30 minutes" version
- a kettlebell-only version, and
- a kettlebell + barbell version.
*More info + sample days below!
• Multiple options for most exercises (pick what works for you) and rep/set ranges• Demo videos (made by us) + clear written instructions for every exercise• 1/month optional technique feedback• Auto-billing is monthly. Cancel anytime.

Sample Days

*On each day of our program, you get three workout options to choose from;A. "Under 30 Minutes"
B. "Kettlebell"
C. "Kettlebell & Barbell"
See samples of each below!

Why three versions, you ask?
Instead of writing rigid programs, we prefer to structure ours with elements of flexibility that encourage practicing bodily autonomy (ie. choosing what feels right each day from multiple options). That way, we can meet you where you’re at each time you lift, no matter what version of you shows up that day. This makes training less of a slog, and more of a grounding ritual or even a fun hobby! We designed it with built-in wiggle room so you can pick what suits your circumstances each day (time, energy, brainpower, mood, equipment access, etc.)Stick with the same version throughout the whole training cycle or mix and match if you need more flexibility day to day.*Shoutout to our neurodivergent &/or disabled &/or chronically ill peeps. We <3 you!

About

OUR STORYWe met at a kettlebell certification in 2016, and coached together at a gym in Portland, OR for 1.5 years before starting our online strength coaching business in 2018.Back then, we specialized in preparing fellow trainers for kettlebell, barbell, and bodyweight instructor certifications. In 2020, we announced our de-affiliation with that certifying organization due to stark differences in our values and vision for the fitness industry and theirs.Since then, we have continued to coach fellow coaches and other folks who love to lift, but want to do it in a playful, balanced way that honors their humanity, first and foremost.

Our Philosophy

We think of strength training as a tool for becoming more of your authentic self vs. a tool for becoming more like who you’re “supposed to be.”It can be a powerful method of self-inquiry, a way to explore your capacity, find your growth edges, and express yourself. For us, lifting is a foundational self-care practice. It is a home where we return to ground into our senses, into our connection to self, each other, our community, ancestors, and planet.

We believe that strength is for everyone…not just the dude bros!“Who gets to be strong?” is a profoundly political question in our society. Strength training should be welcoming and accessible to all, regardless of age, body size, ability, race, immigration status, gender, sexual orientation, class, etc.We want to be part of redefining what strength truly means, moving past hyper-individualistic, white supremacist, patriarchal “power over” definitions of strength.

In our work, we strive to host a space for you to take care of yourself, refilling your cup so you can not only persist through the horrors, but also take embodied action to create the world you want to live in.
We are committed to building coaching relationships where you feel empowered to show up with silliness, vulnerability, and curiosity; relationships that support your autonomy and true wellbeing - far deeper than what you look like, how much you weigh, or how much weight you can lift.

PARTNERS IN BIZ & LIFEWe’re each other’s best training buddies, travel companions, dessert sharing pals, and comfort-zone expanders.Currently, we're learning Olympic Weightlifting and Bachata (a social dance from the Dominican Republic) together! Our relationship goals are to share honestly and support each other in growing into the fullest expressions of ourselves.Fun fact: We did a Filipino Martial Arts stick & knife fight instead of a first dance at our wedding!

I am an artist, mover, and mentor. I never planned to be a coach, beginning life as a curious, yet painfully shy, 2nd generation mixed-Filipino kid in woodsy Northern California.Lifting has been central to my growth and healing, and I love coaching others in their own healing process through movement. Becoming stronger has empowered me to keep questioning my own limits, and in turn, the narrow societal expectations imposed on us all. My movement practice helps me show up more authentically every day. Witnessing others’ expansion gives me the warm fuzzies.Aside from doing heavy pistol squats, you'll find me groovin' around the kitchen while baking, squealing with delight when I see a puppy, photographing on film, making other weird art, and learning about bodies, healing, and social change.

About Arryn

he/him

Arryn hopes to be as strong as Holly one day! A few of his favorite things are: dunking chocolate chip cookies in milk, doing some sort of martial art, cooking with music blasting, fixing things using his handyperson skills, and reading analog books whilst drinking coffee - pinky out! He also loves to do esoteric, old-timey lifts and nerd out on strength training stuff. He grew up a scrawny, video-gaming punk kid in Central Florida. He wasn’t athletic and only played sports his parents forced him to. In 2011, in his early 20s, he started training in martial arts (Jeet Kune Do & Filipino Martial Arts), and it was through that that he developed a strength training practice. He started in his garage with just a 16-kilo kettlebell and an instructional book. After becoming a kettlebell instructor in 2015, he began to coach others. More on his origin story here.Since then, he has immersed himself in learning all about strength and conditioning, mentoring oodles of fellow trainers on coaching and program design over the years. He has coached folks who are world champions in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Strongman, but he still loves training 80-year-olds (like his Gramma) to help improve their movement and overall quality of life.Photo Credit: Holly!
